About Global Game Jam (GGJ)
The GGJ brings together talented individuals from within your community. It is a unique opportunity for people to push their skills and challenge their way of working. Participants work concurrently with developers around the globe; we rally around a central theme, and then have 48 hours to create a game. It's our hope that we will see some very experimental realized prototypes that you can continue to work on after the jam. Many games developed in previous Game Jams have become fully realized games. The GGJ is open source, hardware & software agnostic and all projects are protected under a Creative Commons license. Although having computer skills is helpful, code experience is not necessary. Designers, developers, artists and anyone is welcome to try their hand at making a game during the GGJ. We encourage people to try out new ideas and push themselves, within reason. We also strongly hope participants remember to eat and sleep, to stay at their best!
About Global Game Jam Hong Kong 2017It is the time for Hong Kong's fourth Global Game Jam. We encourage local game developers and game development students to join us in this exciting possibility to bring a huge international event to Hong Kong. Last year in Hong Kong, our 247 jammers produced 40 games in 48 hours. All games are available online, the ones made in Hong Kong you can find here. With a friendly spirit and hope to make lots of new friends and contacts across institutions and studios in Hong Kong, we welcome you to register your attendance at the Global Game Jam website here by creating a user account and registering yourself for the Hong Kong location. Please make sure you register before the event, registration will end on January 22nd!
